Zone Days

Welcome to our zone day scheme!  

Zone days will run two days a week, with each day being designated one area. Meaning we will cover each zone twice a month. We offer zone days in line with our commitment to practicing in a sustainable manner and reducing unnecessary journeys. They also allow us to offer great value and reduce the cost of routine veterinary care.

If you book routine treatments on your zone day you will have a half price visit fee. If more than one horse is seen per visit, the fee is divided between owners.

Routine treatments include:

  • Vaccinations

  • Dental examinations and routine treatment

  • Medication and prescription checks

  • Passports and microchips

  • Blood tests

  • Sedation e.g. for clipping/farriery

We have 4 zone days as outlined in the map below, they follow the main roads to make it as simple as possible to know which zone you are in.

When is your zone day?

  • Zone 1 – 1st Wednesday and 3rd Thursday of the month

  • Zone 2 – 1st Thursday and 3rd Wednesday of the month

  • Zone 3 – 2nd Wednesday and 4th Thursday of the month

  • Zone 4 – 2nd Thursday and 4th Wednesday of the month

We expect our zone days to fill up so we encourage you to book well in advance to ensure availability.

Terms & Conditions

  • Appointments on zone days must be booked at least 48 hours in advance and payment is required either prior to arrival or at the time.

  • While we will do our best to accommodate any time requests, we cannot guarantee exact times unless meeting another professional e.g. farrier. On the day before your zone day you will be contacted with a two hour window and your vet will contact you when they are on their way.

  • Payment in advance can be made by calling the office on 01473 970393. Alternatively all our vets carry mobile card machines so will be able to take payment. Starling Equine Vets Limited reserves the right to not carry out work if payment is not made.

  • We will endeavour to provide continuity of vet care wherever possible but on zone days we cannot specify who will be attending.
